It was another great ride in the Napa Valley with Velocurean Cycling and Social Club.
We planned a 55 mile ride that started in Calistoga and climbed up Old Lawley Toll Rd. over to Middletown. We turned south and road along a beautiful road through Butts Canyon until we arrived at Pope Valley Market. A brief stop and then it was the VERY steep Howell Mtn Rd! Luckily it was short and mostly covered. Down the other side back to the Napa Valley and north along Silverado Trail back to Calistoga. It was a fabulous day of cycling and we will definitely go back again.
We decided on lunch at Solage in Calistoga. It was the perfect setting for the "birthday ride". The setting outside on the patio was perfect with the pool and the mountains in plain view. The food was excellent and the wine selections absolutely spot on! If you get the chance, you must visit Calistoga, ride the area and eat at Solage!
